REAC has developed the mechanics and the drive-wheels for a new concept wheelchair. The concept is built on a new heavy-duty rotating actuator which is the key to the chair geometry, and on high efficiency drive-wheels with hubless and brushless design.
The concept wheelchair has three different modes; Normal, outdoor/climb, and stand up mode. With these modes the chair can easily climb curbs and a few stairs, it will ride smooth with gyro leveling and it can put the user in a stand up position within 6-8 seconds. Due to no self-locking in the drive motor it can also be used as a manual wheelchair. The drive-wheels are also detachable hence the wheelchair can easily be transported.
